Mandy Pattinson

Mandy Pattinson joined Discovery Networks Asia Pacific in January 2006 as Vice President and Country Head, Australia and New Zealand. Mandy oversees Discovery Networks’ operations in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific and is responsible for the strategic direction and management of Discovery’s business initiatives and future growth opportunities for the portfolio of networks currently offered in Asia Pacific, including Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Discovery Travel & Living, Discovery Home & Health, Discovery Turbo MAX, Discovery Science and Discovery HD World.

Mandy has extensive experience in the media and entertainment industry locally and internationally, with a background in law. Most recently she managed the Optus Television platform as acting general manager, business affairs, negotiating channel distribution and new media content deals across platforms, and played a key role in the implementation of the wholesale content sharing arrangements with Foxtel. Mandy also worked with Optus managing multimedia regulation and strategy for Optus’ mobile, tv and broadband products.

Prior to Optus TV, Mandy was corporate counsel with ISL Sports Marketing (London) negotiating distribution deals with international broadcasters for FIFA World Cup, ATP Tennis Tournaments and other key global sporting properties. Mandy has also worked as corporate counsel negotiating the Sydney 2000 Olympic sponsorship agreements with Olympic Partner, Westpac, and Polygram as business affairs manager after starting her legal career as a solicitor with leading entertainment law firm, Tress Cox.

Mandy also holds a Master of Laws degree from University of NSW (Honours), specialising in Media, Communications and IT.
