Graham McNeice

Graham McNeice

Graham McNeice began his broadcasting career at the age of 17 calling greyhound races with Frank Kennedy for Radio Station 2KA.

It was a modest beginning to a career that has seen Graham establish himself as one of Australia’s leading producers of documentaries, as well as a versatile and extremely accomplished TV presenter.

After learning the ropes with Frank Kennedy, Graham enjoyed a nine year stint as the understudy race caller to the legendary Des Hoysted, along with various commentary roles at Radio 2UE.

In 1977, whilst still calling for 2UE, Graham joined Channel Ten as a Sports Producer, which soon led to positions as a television reporter, senior producer and sports newsreader.

Graham went on to become Ten’s News Sports Anchor in 1983 and was pivotal at TEN’s coverage of the 1984 LA Olympics.

In 1986 looking for a fresh challenge, he left Ten to become Executive Sports Producer and Head Anchor at Sky Channel.  Over the next nine years Graham became widely recognised as the face of Sky Channel and led the fledgling station to a firm footing.

With fresh challenges in the emerging medium of Subscription Television, Graham left Sky Channel to pursue his producing interests with Foxtel but returned in 1998 to Sky to oversee the establishment of Sky Racing, Australia’s first Pay TV network dedicated to racing, as race day anchor and hosting the popular Racing Retro Sunday program for the next 12 years.

Graham and his team have produced a number of documentaries including “Tulloch”, “That’s Racing”, “That’s Rugby League”, “That’s Boxing”, “Fenech”, and  the  highly  acclaimed  “John Laws – In One Lifetime”  Volumes 1 and 2.

In 2005, he was commissioned by the newly established Foxtel ‘Crime Investigations Channel’ (CI) to develop and produce a documentary series on true Australian crime.

The 36 Episodes of ‘Crime Investigation Australia’, hosted by Steve Liebman, set new boundaries in the way this style of investigative documentary making is produced in this country.  Its cutting edge presentation, including graphic reenactments of gruesome crimes such as: ‘The Anita Cobby Murder’, ‘The Backpacker Murders’ and ‘The Snowtown Bodies in the Barrels’ made it a huge success on Foxtel and, a ratings winner on the Nine Network.

Graham has also produced a crime series titled ‘Australian Families of Crime’ for the Nine Network and also Foxtel’s CI Channel.
