
Julian Delany's recent media career commenced at XYZnetworks & The Weather Channel as the Marketing Director in 2003. He became General Manager in May 2006 of Australia’s only 24 hour television channel focused on weather. During this time Julian oversaw the production, marketing, promotion and digital development of a data focused, meteorological media outlet during some of Australia's most intense weather events. Coverage & analysis of nation defining weather disasters, Tropical Cyclone Yasi, Queensland Floods & Black Saturday Bushfire disaster enabled the channel to showcase it's expert talent & LIVE TV capability. Amongst the development of the Foxtel platforms most used interactive 'red' button application, Weather Active, the channel commissioned two award winning documentaries, 'Forecast for Disaster' on Black Saturday & the La Nina phenomenon.
In October of 2012 Julian joined News Corp Australia as General Manager of news.com.au. He is currently responsible for the strategy, delivery and operational management of the product, brand, production & people of the site. news.com.au became Australia’s largest news site in early 2013 and has continued this status through 2014. The site reaches over 3.7m Australians a month & is consistently delivers the most engaged news audience in terms of time spent, total pages consumed & pages per person read.
