Award Winning Campaigns

An opportunity for ASTRA member channel marketers and publicists to have an inside look into 2014 ASTRA Industry Excellence Award winning campaigns. Hear directly from the heads of departments on their objectives and the creative process around three of these stellar campaigns. Presenters will include detail on strategy as well as tactical execution. See each campaign in its entirety and the results which were used to measure success. Speakers and winning campaigns presented: 

Kristie Phelan , Network Creative Director / Head of Production – Most Outstanding PR/Communications Campaign- Dare to Be Square, Nickelodeon

A producer in the original start-up team for Nickelodeon Australia in 1995, Kristie Phelan has steered the Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. in-house creative team as both Writer/producer and Creative Director for nineteen years. She has led Nickelodeon to win over 150 International and Australian Promax and BDA awrds, numerous ASTRA awards and a number of Logie nominations.  

Kristie championed Nickelodeon’s pro-social campaign Dare to be Square, which has won an ASTRA Award for Most Outstanding PR/Communications campaign for two years running.

Lisa Byrne, Marketing Manager – General Entertainment Foxtel - Most Outstanding Multi Media Promotion – Australia’s Next Top Selfie Competition – FOX8

Slime, Socceroos and Supermodels – Lisa’s diverse 13 years’ experience in broadcast marketing has seen her manage a broad portfolio of genres including children’s, factuals, sport and entertainment. Working on well-known television brands such as FOX8, SBS, BBC and Nickelodeon, Lisa has produced many award-winning campaigns with a particular strength in engaging audiences through innovative digital and social media initiatives. Lisa is motivated by striking emotional and lasting connections with the audience by tapping into existing behaviours and passion points. An example of this is ‘Australia’s Next Top Selfie’ which she will take you through today.

David has worked across most creative disciplines both in and outside of television. David is a multi Promax award winner including being the winner of the much coveted International Gold for Channel branding. 

He loves a challenge and quickly realised that behind the footloose rock n' roll facade of music TV is a lot of blood and sweat but mercifully few tears.

Sean's television career began over 15 years ago with a background in production, working on successful reality TV series, documentaries and TVCs. 

Sean is an award winning creative and has personally won over 15 Promax Awards both locally and internationally. He has also won two ASTRA Awards, both for Most Outstanding Channel Image Spot for Channel [V]. Sean currently manages one of Australia’s leading television creative teams, overseeing the on air branding, promotions and imagery for Channel [V], [V] Hits, MAX, CMC and the recently launched Smooth
